A couple of summer rides: Baja California and Yosemite 2015
August 6, 2015 Gary and I
ride to Tecate, Mexico to visit a friend. Then we ride almost 200 miles South near San Quintin where Gary has a vacation home. |
|
We park the bikes and get around on his quads for a few days. The beach and sand dunes are a blast.
Then we head about 5 miles East on a dirt road to get to Gary's cabin in the middle of nowhere. Very peaceful!
Mucho cactus. | |
For lunch one day we rode further South to Mama Espinozas. |
Now for another ride I took alone. August 27, 2015 I spend the day riding Yosemite. Here I am at Lee Vining about to head up Tioga Pass into Yosemite.
A view from Glacier Point
At the Tioga Pass entrance to the Park.
Yosemite Valley. | |
I met Mike from Oakland. He had recently returned from riding his bike in Alaska. Wow! This trip he was heading to Utah and other parts unknown.
These trees are the oldest living things on earth. Some about 4000 years old. Gnarly old trees. Nice ride up to 10,000 feet where they live.
Anyone for the Methuselah trail?
Nice sunset on
Hiway 395 near Lone Pine.
Next long ride? Destination unknown. |
